What's left after the Lee award? Six worked examples

The question every family asks once they see the number. The 2026-27 Lee awards against illustrative local price points, and what fills the gap or what a leftover can buy.

How much will a Lee family owe after the scholarship?

It depends on the school's price. At an illustrative $8,500 church school the K-3 award of $8,779 covers everything; at an illustrative $24,000 college-prep high school the $8,001 award leaves $15,999 before aid.

If there's a gap

Next come school aid, Catholic or church member pricing, the Edu Fund partner scholarship where a school takes part, and, starting in 2027, the federal credit for households under its income line.
