College credit from a Lee County private high school

Private school students in Lee can take Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) courses through dual enrollment if their school signs FSW's annual articulation agreement. Here's who pays for what.

Last verified: October 2026. Checked against Step Up For Students' 2026-27 award tables, handbooks and purchasing guides.

Can a private school student in Fort Myers take FSW classes?

Yes, when the school has a current articulation agreement with FSW. The agreements are annual and must be filed with FSW's Accelerated Pathways office before August 1 each year.

Who pays for dual enrollment at FSW for a private school student?

Under FSW's 2025-26 private school agreement, students are exempt from registration, matriculation and lab fees, FSW lends required textbooks, the private school is billed fall and spring tuition, and the school may not pass those costs on to the student. Specialized program costs stay with the student.

Who is eligible?

A 3.0 unweighted high school GPA, qualifying placement scores and school approval; students in grades 6-9 also need two recommendation letters.
